Welcome to the Information Page
for PIR Bibliography Submission and Literature Retrieval, currently under b-testing.
The amount of experimentally verified data on functional annotation
available in sequence databases is rather limited due to the laborious nature
of knowledge extraction from the literature. There is both a pressing need and
a great opportunity in computational biology to develop more efficient ways
of mining biomedical literature that allow automatic identification of experimental
reports as evidence for new functional assignments of proteins. We invite direct bibliography submission
by authors, scientists, or researchers to assist
in keeping our database with up to date information. Meanwhile, we also provide an easy and efficient
literature search and retrieval mechanism for PSD protein entries from our database as well as links to the PubMed literature database. Follow the steps below to begin your bibliography submission or literature retrieval.
More information on submission
Note: currently we only process bibliography submission
for EXISTING protein entries in our Database. We plan to accept bibliography submission for all protein entries
in the future. For entries NOT found in PSD, please visit
Sequence Submission.

Bibliography Submission
|
Enter an Entry ID: select the type of identifier and put the entry code into the box below, then click "submit" button.
This will lead you to a page for entering information. Alternatively, if a list
of protein entries related to your entry code is displayed, you should select the desired entry ID,
and then proceed your submission.
Search PIR Unique ID if you do not know it.

Bibliography Retrieval
|
Enter a PIR Unique ID or a RESID ID
to view literature information associated with this protein entry or with the post-translational modification of this protein, respectively.
Search PIR Unique ID or
RESID ID if you do not know them.
